RICORS
The Cooperative Research Networks Oriented Toward Health Outcomes (RICORS) are structures made up of a group of research teams that share a common, specific, and achievable research objective.
These multidisciplinary teams belong to a variable set of biomedical research centers, affiliated with different public administrations or the private sector, and are based in at least ten Autonomous Communities.
Objectives
a) To promote health outcomes–oriented research by coordinating the research network within the scope of the National Health System around a specific and clearly defined research objective.
b) To structure and integrate R&D&I among research groups from different Autonomous Communities, focusing their research activity toward common objectives that enable the achievement of results transferable to the population.
Organizational Structure and Governance
a) RICORS Coordinator acts as the liaison with the ISCIII and is responsible for scientific coordination among the different groups, ensuring compliance with the scientific program and overall coordination, including the collection of performance indicators and the implementation of corrective actions in the event of any deviations. Additionally, the Coordinator provides visibility for the network and promotes the dissemination of results when necessary.
b) A Steering Committee, composed of a number of members appropriate to the structure of the network. It includes the RICORS Coordinator as well as representatives from at least 50% of the research groups, elected by agreement among all parties, while ensuring gender balance at all times.
c) An External Scientific Advisory Committee, which provides advice and periodically reports on the activities of the RICORS.
The duration of the initiative is three years.

RETICS (Prorrogadas hasta Diciembre 2022)
Las Redes temáticas de investigación cooperativa en salud (RETICS) son estructuras organizativas formadas por la asociación al Instituto de Salud Carlos III de un conjunto variable de centros y grupos de investigación en biomedicina, de carácter multidisciplinar, dependientes de las diferentes Administraciones públicas o del sector privado y pertenecientes a un mínimo de cuatro Comunidades Autónomas, que tienen como objetivo la realización de proyectos de investigación cooperativa de interés general.
Responden a las prioridades del Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2013-2016 en el ámbito sanitario e integran los distintos tipos de investigación como estrategia para acortar el intervalo entre la producción de un nuevo conocimiento y su transferencia y aplicabilidad real en la práctica médica.
El objetivo general de las RETICS es promover la colaboración entre los grupos de investigación del Sistema Nacional de Salud que trabajan en temas afines facilitando al mismo tiempo la vertebración de la investigación que se realiza en el mismo.
Con respecto a su estructura, un coordinador general será el responsable de la coordinación científica y seguimiento de la Red y los coordinadores de programa serán responsables de la coordinación científica de cada programa. Para su constitución y mantenimiento será necesaria la participación de entre seis y quince grupos de investigación por programa y de cuatro o más Comunidades Autónomas.
En la actualidad, existen 14 Redes temáticas de investigación cooperativa en salud.
